57,000$ CAD for "used" IS350
Hi guys and gals,
This is my first post but I’m a long time reader. I have learned enormously from this forum and would like your opinions on my situation.
First off the Canadian dealer cost for the IS350 Lux+ Nav+ ML is 55,423$ and the MSRP is 61,475$
I have the opportunity to purchase an IS350 Lux+ Nav+ ML for 57,700$ CAD. Apparently it was driven only by the sale manager at the dealership and has 4000km on it. He would be buying my current car for 1000$. A 1991 Volvo 740 with 237000km in mint condition.
What you think, good deal?

Hard to say, I don't know how likely you are to get discounts, most of us here had to pay full MSRP. If your depreciation rates are similar, this is about what I would expect the value of the car to be once someone took ownership and drove it off the lot. So if you are getting a fair trade in value on your other car, probably an average deal, IMHO.

If it is the Color you want.... go for it , 2000km on a vehicle is not that much
I am paying full MRSP here in Calgary and I have to wait almost 2 months to get it.
Keep your old volvo and drive it in the winter or sell it privately. It is probably worth more to you than the 1000$ you are going to get for it.
Just my opinion

I made a mistake the IS350 has 4000km on it (2 485 miles). I have edited my post.
My Volvo is definitely worth more than 1000$. Even if it has 237 000km it is in perfect shape. I could sell it for 3000$. But with all the hassle of getting an “Ontario Used Vehicle Information Package” from the license bureau which is required to sell the car privately I’m still tempted at the offer...
I though of keeping the Volvo for winter but I would need to rent a garage space to keep the IS. My girlfriend has her car and my garage and driveway ain’t that big. Also, even if my Volvo is in good shape it is still not as reliable as a Lexus. Wouldn’t want to be stuck on the side of the road in winter knowing I have one of the most reliable car in storage.

I bought my Is350 in vancouver and I could only get 1000 off of msrp, with Luxury and nav. and my family has dealt with them for years. So if you don't mind that its been driven it seems like a fair deal. You're saving $3k because its got 4k on it.

I don't think you are getting a good deal, but i don't think you are getting a bad deal. Like you said, i'm sure you could get more for the volvo, i might sell it (not at the dealership), like on ebay or something, and use the money for a down payment, that way, you will get the most bang for your buck. As for the car, excuse me while i try to deal with the different pricing, but the deal you are getting is...reasonable...but you should try and go down about 2K CAN.
Anyway, congrats(if you decide to get it) on the car!

I ended up gettting $1500 Canadian off MSRP, with about a 3.5 week wait. I have never dealt with the dealership before, and the vehicle was not part of their allocation. They got another one assigned to them. I am not sure if they traded with another dealer or ???

I bought my IS350 in Ontario Canada (outside Toronto) with lux package, nav & ML and spoiler and received a $1,500 discount. Vehicle was also bought from another dealer in transit at sea and was delivered from that dealer to me in a covered trailer. I also received a trunk organizer. Total time from the day I ordered until I took delivery was one month (exact colour combo I requested). I consider myself lucky when I hear about some long wait times. Personaly, if you can find the car you want without having to wait too long, I would pay the difference and have no mileage on the vehicle...but your call.
