Default So what are my options for a 250 in NorCal?

So I have been emailing various dealerships around NorCal trying to get a feel for what my options are and they seem very limited.

I have been told that ordering is rare, and that:

* ML Sound isn't available for the 250.
* Sports package isn't available.

Basically, I have two choices: an IS 250 with a lux pkg + nav OR a lux pkg and NO nav.

So that's it? Seems a bit limiting.

Has anyone found a dealership that has been accomodating and helpful?

Thanks in advance.

I believe the Lux Pkg is an option for the IS 250 AWD, however, not for the 250 RWD. I have tried unsuccessfully to special order an IS 250 RWD w/ Nav & Lux Pkg from Lexus of Concord, Marin, Serramonte, and Coliseum Lexus. If anyone has had better luck, I'd love to hear about it.

Yes, that was my mistake. The Premium package is what I am finding, not the Lux pkg. Oops.

Anyways, I may have found one dealer that is $2k below MSRP and quoting 3-6 weeks on delivery of a custom order...does this jibe right?

Thanks again guys.

I got my 250 from Lexus of Concord. I was told by all of the salesmen in NorCal I spoke with that the 250 is available only with lux/nav or prem/no nav. Coliseum Lexus (Oakland) is selling at $2k off MSRP. The deal I got from Concord is better than that. Not by much, but it was lower. I started negotiating from invoice price, not MSRP. The car I was looking for was on the lot so I jumped on it right away. One thing I overlooked is the actual invoice price. Lexus adds $500 to the invoice for advertising, marketing, etc. I could have gotten $500 more if I would have known about it. Stupid me, I beleived him when he gave me the invoice. I should have looked at Edmunds and started from that invoice price. Anyway, I didn't have to wait months to get mine, and it was the lowest deal I got.

i just picked up my is250 manual this weekend and it has lux and nav.

it was a real pita to locate this configuration tho. most of the dealers only had the is250 with premium with or without nav. no sport or lux. if i wanted sport, lux or ml, then i'd have to do a special order. i was really lucky in finding mine.

It's funny how the markets work.

Up here in Washington State, you cannot get an IS 250 AWD *without* the Lux package.

Cheers,

sorry, there's no way I'd pay in the mid to upper 30's for a 250....that's 350 territory.

Lexus doesn add that, that dealer did. I'd never buy a car from a dealer that listed or charged extra for that. It's a part of their business, getting an already (healthy) built-in profit.

correct, i don't think there is such thing as advertising fee, that's not money you should pay.

so 250 rwd is only available with the prem package, umm.... tough...

Yes, now I know. I guess they took me for $500. I guess it could have been worse. Still though, figuring it in, it's still the lowest deal I got for a car with the options I wanted that's already on the lot. I'll certainly keep this in mind on my next purchase.

some new packages showed up when I went to build a 250 Manual. It now shows Sport pkg, Sport with accessories and Nav w/18's and accessories. Previously it only showed 18's and 18's with the accessories

There were plenty of nav+premium IS250 RWD when I was looking a couple of weeks ago.
