i read in 2007 that lexus would come out with a is500 coupe v8 400 horspower, but what about a is 250/350 coupe? there ain't gonna be any? the is500 coupe sounds too expensive.

Lexus will most likely reveal a coupe/convertible for next year, but no official word yet. I'm pretty sure it's in the works to battle against the upcoming 3-Series coupe and hardtop convertible. This is a pretty definate plan for Lexus.

As for the IS500, that is very questionable. The supposed 5.0 L engine is made for the LF-A concept/GT, which is rumored to be north of $100k. I doubt Lexus will give the IS the same engine and charge half as much for it. Lexus may keep that engine exclusive to the LF-A, or the next gen SC. The IS will most likely gain the 4.6 L engine that the LS and GS will have for 2007, and perhaps a hybrid. All of these ideas are still rumors and unconfirmed.

I thought I heard that the POSSIBLE IS500 would be powered by the 5.0L V8 we're gonna see in the LS600h (5.0L V8 + electric motor). The LF-A is supposed to be powered by a 5.0L V10 with individual throttle bodies and other race-derived goodies.
