Default Went to check out a new IS350 last night

Went to the dealer to check out the new is350 last night, I couldn't believe they only had two of them... Unfortunately they were the 250 model and didn't have the navi :-( When I asked the sales guy what they were going for, he pointed to the sticker and read the number off to me.. When I asked what they were really getting for the car.. He quickly said they don't discount Lexus cars here because they don't have to... Are these things really that hot? No offence to anyone paying sticker, but I can't afford to lose another 3-4grand off the top... Another thing was I currently have a 04 Acura TL and some compair the two... Let me tell you the two cars are completely different. The Lexus is much nicer..... But the size of the IS350 is small.. The TL is a boat in comparison.. I'm 6.0 ft tall 160lb's and I felt a little over sized in the car.. I'm still considering the car, but only if I can get it for 3-4 grand off... It's really is a nice car.

I am six foot, 180 lbs and I fit fine in the front. Having larger passengers behind me is doable but not extremely comfortable. I would say this car is very good size for 2 but can make shorter trips with four.

As for prices, you can probably get a pretty good deal on the IS250 but it is much harder to get discounts on the IS350. On the 250, you can get 2-3 grand off the msrp in CA.

6' 235 lbs and the seats are very comfy. My only complaint about them is the lack of side bolsters (coming from a g35 coupe.)

O I fit in the car fine.. It's just smaller then I expected.... In fact the TL is a little too big for me..

They wanted sticker for the is250... But remember they only had 2 of them.. He said lexus is keeping the production of the IS extremely low.

I would definitely shop around, hopefully you have another lexus dealership near you. You should be able to get something of the sticker price by now.

5'10" - 180lbs and have lots of room to spare from all directions. I do have a friend who is 6'2" and 400lbs but I won't let him even sit in my car. He has already smashed one of my dining room chairs and a deck chair...so not pushing my luck. When he rides in my wife's ML350 his big arms keep knocking the shifter into the wrong gear. Have had to be very diplomatic.

I thought Lexus was saying 40k was their projected figures for the 2IS, that doesn't seem like an extremely low production figure

shop around, you should be able to get at least $1k off. $3-4k will be too much of a stretch.

Yea... I'll have to look around. I thought I saw a servay on this site saying people were getting 2-4k off.. I may just have to wait a few more months or something.. I'll need to get around 2k+ off..

For IS250, you may be able to get 2k+ off MSRP. But for is350, you should be looking at 1k to 2K off MSRP. Anything higher may be hard.

Keep in mind that market condition changes periodically, espcially on a car which is short supply and high demand. Some people may be lucky enough to get a good discount off MSRP.

Good luck

Pricing/discount has been discussed in multiple threads so I'll save you my opinion there. As far as the fit...

I'm 6'2", 205lbs. With the seat all the way back, my legs are nearly straight and I have to reach to grab the wheel (maybe I have long legs and short arms). There is way more driver leg room than most SUV's. I think the fit is perfect!! If this is a concern for you, you may want to check out the GS400h. It's performance is on par with the IS350 with much more passenger room (and a hefty price tag).

IMHO the IS350 is a near perfect vehicle for me and there is not another vehicle (within reason) on the market currently that I'd rather have. Driving it is surreal. Everyone else on the road feels like a toy that I can throw away if I don't like it.

Good luck getting that much off MSRP right now on a 350. car_lost is spot on with his comment. They're upping production so keep your fingers crossed.

I was only able to get $500 off sticker on my 350. It was the only 350 they had with nav and just happen to be the colors I wanted, both inside and out. The dealer knew they had me by the ***** if I didn't want to wait 4 months for a special order, and even then I probabou wouldn't have gotten much more if anything at all off the price. I've seen some people post that they've gotton up to 2k off sticker, so it depends on the dealer and how much demand there is for the car at that dealer. Also depends on your negotation skills i'm sure.

I'm 6' about 210 and I've got plenty of room in the front seat. It's kind of hard for someone to sit behind me, but I did have 4 girls in the car last night and we all managed . I also only got $500 off of sticker but that was also back in December.
