Thanks for the tip. I went to lexus-parts.com last night and was going to purchase the touch up paint. but then found out that shipping cost just as much!! what the heck. so it's around $8.xx for the paint and then another $8.95 for shipping. does anyone know other places that sells them?
and i just have to ask, how much does it cost at the dealer?

I just got some at my local dealer and it was $8.95. Things are not always cheaper on the net...

Don't feel too bad. It's a common mistake when there are so many details during a clean-up. I did that to my old car as well.

But do you know that Toyota used to have a rubber under each of the wiper arms to prevent damage arising from opening the hood accidentally?

I am talking about a 1991 Camry which had this design. I never saw this feature again since 1997.

You're telling me! I just did a similar thing. I was putting on my real license plate and I had the trunk halfway open and as I was unscrewing one of the screws I dropped the screwdriver on the trunk lid and made a 1" scratch.

No, he posted this on a public board, so everyone knows about. Saying that it basically doesn't exist is idiotic, sorry.

How well did this work for you to touch up your rims, is4me2? The edge of one of my back rims got chewed up the other day and I'm trying to figure out if I can do something to smooth it out and cover it up. If this worked, what color touch up paint is the closest to the stock rims? Thanks.

Relative to scratches, I found a new resource that I did not know existed. The new car dealers work with specialists who airbrush scratches on new cars. Apparently these occur during shipping, loading, unloading, etc. and the dealers fix them as part of new car prep. I had shopping cart hit my G35 coupe bumper and knock off a bit of paint. The service adviser gave me the name of the guy they use and he fixed it for $80. It is a lot more than the $9 touch-up paint, but much less than a repaint of the bumper. Match is perfect including replacing the clear coat and after 2+ years I still can't tell where the scratch was.

Sponsors of this Club Lexus site give us a discount when we buy their products. If you go to the Sponsors page and then click on Aftermarket Resellers you get names of the Sponsors and you can go to their sites and see what they sell. The discount code I was giving you was for Sewell Lexus, which has lexus-parts.com. I ordered their scuff plates and touch up paint and when you use the CL911M they give you a 10% discount on top of an already good price. As an example my scuff plates were listed on their site for $194 and got them for $174 with our discount.

Someone mentioned that their touch up paint is $8 but you pay $8.95 shipping. Well, yes if that is all you are going to order. I ordered two sets of scuff plates (4 separate boxes mailed) and the touch up paint and paid $9.12 to ship everything. So, I wouldn't just order the touch up paint to get the discount if you are not ordering anything else.

This worked great for me. I used the Tungsten Pearl touch up. I took a picture of the wheel with the touch up done. It is in the lower right portion of the picture.

For wheel touch up try Testors Model Paint. Silver will prob match the best.
