Default Finally Washed my car and scratched the paint!

Yesterday was my dayoff and so I decided to wash my car for the first time since I bought the car (which is over a month ago). While I was drying the car, I lifted the wiper blades in the upright position. Then I decided to open the hood to wipe the excess water under it. As I lifted the hood, it hit the wiper stalk and the metal portion of the wiper scratched the paint off of the hood!!! Boy do I feel stupid!
So the lesson here is that don't open your hood while the wiper blades are up.

I took some pictures of the car and I will try to upload them later tonight. The car looks good though.

It's margianlly acceptable for chips, but not very good for scratches (even with the new ball-point tip).

Go buy the touch up paint ($9 ~ $11 from the dealer, check Toyota first, it should be cheaper than Lexus dealers) and forget about it.

Rock chip is inevitable, so a minor scratch at the end of the hood means nothing. Also, the only person who knows that there is a scratch there is you. If you are okay with it, it basically does not exist at all.

With our Club Lexus discount it is down to $8. I just had them throw some in with my illuminated scuff plate order....I chewed up my rims a little and was going to try the touch up on them. Our discount code is CL911M.

Also, don't leave your windshield wipers up and pull your car in the garage to wipe it down if you have bikes hanging above....

Mike, how could you do that? Well hopefully you can repair the damage. Interested in seeing those pics to see what kind of damage was done.

I did it fairly quickly. but it wasn't hard, just like opening my hood normally, but i guess it was still too hard. I will take a picture this weeknd and post all the pictures up. afterall, I did promise Premier that I will show my clear bra pictures to help them advertise.

so if you're reading this and want to get clear bra, try premier!!! (there! that's my advertisment for them :P )
