Default Nav Hack / Prius-Coastal Tech

Has anyone received this unit or successfully done this. I haven't heard anything for about six weeks. Is it vaporware? Did Toyota Legal get to them? Wassup?

Can you fill us in on what this unit is, and what it's supposed to do? I've never heard of it.

That's the one. Sounds better than sliced white bread, doesn't it?

Yeah it sounds cool if it is true. $99 is a bit much to achieve the two main functions but I guess some people really get annoyed by it. I would have probably purchased something like this earlier but my nav pretty much starts up with a movie or music video and I rarely see my I-Agree screen until I'm actually ready to use the nav. But this device sounds cool.

I'd grab it in a heartbeat if it works as stated.

If you actually clicked the link to the ad, you get an "F" in reading comprehension.

The third paragraph on that page says: "The NAVIGATION ENHANCEMENT KIT solves both of these issues without the need to cut any wires "

And the picture shows that the wiring harness plugs into the kit, and then the kit has a second set of connectors that plug into the back of the nav unit.

I saw this on a Sienna forum several months ago. The members who ordered them had been waiting like 3 months and still had not received them. I haven't checked back for at least 2 months now. If anyone has a status update, I'm sure many of us would be interested.

Thumbs down Not so sure

Great idea and I'm sure it can be done. But this ad looks about as trust worthy as those that sell the gadgets that promise improved gas mileage that are basically nothing more than aluminum fans that you put inline of your air intake.

I would just go on the Prius boards and ask if you guys are interested...I believe there are discussions on their boards since it is made specifically for the Prius...
