Crashed My Car into an Escort -Blk Paint Hard to Match??
On the way to the grocery store I was checking my visor and didn't realize that there was traffic. When I realized it was too late and I smashed into a green Escort with two young girls in it . Well their bumper got bent pretty bad, but my car acutally looks worse. But I'm lucky that I think these girls seem like honest people (I hope). I dont think they will try to rip me off.
I have never been in a accident where I hit somebody like this, how should I proceed? I'm assuming it would cost between 1500-2000 to fix my car and about 500-1000 to fix their car, in this case is it better to use insurance to pay for the damages?
Anyone know if the black on the 2IS is any dificult to match?
Lesson: Dont use visor (or anything for that matter) while driving.

It all depends. First you should get an estimate for both cars. That way when you contact your insurance provider you have a estimate for them to work with. Your insurance provider should be able to then tell you if it would be better for you to go thru insurance or pay out right. If your really lucky maybe you can settle with the girls with a payout if their car isnt that bad.

Actually, onyx black is probably one of the easiest colors to match. There is no pearl flake that you have to worry about. The pearl is the most difficult (if not impossible sometimes) to match because the flakes in the repainted area will not necessarily line up in the same direction as the rest of the car. As you move around the car with pearl, the old and new paints will refect light slightly differently and will look slightly different shades.
