Default car locking

If you walk away from the car with the keys in your pocket and without pressing the button on the door or on the key, does the car lock itself? if so, does it do it based on time after closing the door or on distance from the car? ie, 10 seconds after or 10 feet away, etc.

If you unlocked your car then walked away, it will lock in like 1 min or so. BUT if you turn off you car, closed your door and walk away, it wont lock by itself. That's what ive noticed

This has been discussed several times. We all wish the car would lock actively.

Not me, I don't wish for my car to lock the doors automatically. I wish it could read my mind and know when I would like it to be locked and when unlocked but if there were a setting that says everytime you turn off the car and open a door, then the car locks automatically after the last door is closed, I would deactivate that setting.

I never lock my doors when I park in my garage. And it would be too inconvenient to go back and forth to the car with it keep locking, sometimes my key is inside.

It works great the old-fashioned way it is which is you lock the door by either pushing the handle button or using the key fob. If the car is locked and you unlock it but you don't open a door, the car will relock which is cool.

Yea it sure would be nice to at least have an option. I prefer mine to lock automatically, plus you get a better discount on insurance with active alarms that lock your doors.
