Default ML + NAVI DVD AUDIO Question

Can you play DVD AUDIO disc while driving w/o the NAVI hack?

also anyone know if ML/Navi drive can play .flac files or not?

haha.... no. Next you'll be asking if it can AAC, OGG, etc (it can't). All the compatible types are listed in the owners manual.

I bought a dvd audio just to see how much different it would sound from a cd because I read, I think on this board, that there's a noticable difference but I didn't notice any difference at all. In fact imo the ml system is nothing special.

Assuming you r listening at stereo and not multi-channel music, noticing differences between well recorded CDs and Audio DVDs is not so easy in a car, sure if moving...
Comparing instead stereo and multichannell... well, it's not an easy discussion and often a matter of your personal preferences (I prefer mchannel 'cos I can more easily point out instruments and sound textures, but it's my view - even an audiophile recordered CD in a good/expensive system can give you a wonderful soundstage... at home).

I'll get (finally) my new IS next tuesday/wednesday, so I'll be happy too to compare CDs and DVDAs inside the car and against the Rotel/Dynaudio system I've at home (with SACD and DVDA).
