If he has the money, wants to buy it for his son, and will live with the consequences...why not? I'm not coming to his defense as I would never do this, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions and they can do whatever they want with their own hard earned money.
As for the market out there...theres a couple of prototype superchargers out there...some intake choices, couple of exhaust choices...more body kits and lip kits are coming out, rims a plenty, CF pillars are out, there are a good amount of mods out there...so yes you can mod/tune the car...of course you will be spending more money on your 17 yr old son's car, who may not be mature/responsible enough in MY opinion to drive a more expensive car with mods...

Theres a couple of intakes that are out already, Blitz is working on a supercharger
Unless you really know that your son is an extremely good kid [one that drives like a nerd, drives 5 mph under the speed limit] you shouldnt get him this car. Once in a while I would do stupid stuff with this car. Get him one of those tracking device that shows his speed.

Members, please heed my earlier polite request. Some of you are being quite rude... if you have nothing polite to say or no assistance to offer this member, move on. I think the points many of you have made have been heard over and over.

my 2 cents on this is, (although I also agree it's not a 17 year old's car), but what's he gonna have to look forward to when he gets older? You gonna buy him a Ferrari when he does well in college?

From what I've read on this forum so many of you guys shouldn't even be driving these cars cuz you have to work so hard to afford it. I personally paid all cash and can afford it but so what? You people should stop giving the guy a hard time.. if he want's to buy his son a is350 cuz he's been a good boy that's his business all he wanted was info on aftermarket support not moral lectures on how to raise his kid!

The majority of you are completely out of line. How dare you tell him how he should spend his money. You know nothing of his situation. You know even less about his son, or how responsible he may or may not be for his age. The reason most of you would "never do that" is probably because you can't afford it. Let's not hate on someone who can provide for his son that he's obviously very proud of. From what I've seen, most of you are moderately successful at best and are still wet behind the ears.
While I didn't have a Lexus at age 17, I did have a car with 420hp. Sure, I was reckless now and again, but I'm still alive and I'm glad I was able to have the experiences with the car when I did.

OK guys, apparently none of you can understand and comply with my two requests (and I mean all those arguing both sides of the personal issue). In the future, the moderator team may temporarily suspend access for those that continue to ignore moderator or administrator warnings and requests. Continued outbursts will bring progressivly longer suspension and permanent ban.
