Default Are you happy with your 6-speed manual?

For those of you who have purchased the IS 250 6-speed manual tranny, are you pleased with the engine/transmission performance? I am considerting purchasing this set-up, but would like to hear from current owners before I make my decision.

Thanks for your input!

yes, I am!

I think with the 2.5 engine is the best way to go. You can get the last drop of power this way.

I can't stand automatic transmissions.... and paddle shifters/sport mode, no matter how good they are, are not clutchless SMG's....

regards,

i liike the six speed very close ratios and the engine can pull all the gears pretty good. kinda reminds me of the rx8 setup but better,

i like the manual... although it feels like im rowing a boat when i shift. keep in mind i'm coming from an integra with a short shifter. i just wish the reverse was over and down rather than in and up. i've mistaken first gear for reverse and vice versa...

Not bad, my only complaint is that it doesn't slide into second gear as smoothly as the others, has anyone else experienced this?

my bro & i coming from an Acura RSX Type S, i would say you don't feel so much as one with the car. To some certain extent the IS250 feels a bit more electronic than the Type S. However, the ride is smoother and doesn't jerk as much as the Type S.

Ditto. Though if they really want to make my day, give me an IS500 AWD with a stick.

Everyone wants an IS350 manual. There will DEFINITELY be one. Lexus isnt stupid, they would rather you buy the auto and then switch over. They make more money and create more demand.

my friend that worked at taste of lexus said something along the lines of toyota/lexus didnt have a modern transmission that would handle the IS350s torque and they couldnt develop one in time for release. Hopefully a manual does come out.
