How hard is it to parallel park the 2IS?
Has anyone here tried parallel parking the 2IS? The back window is pretty much useless,
can't see much at all. Getting NAV is $$$ for a backup camera, and getting just PA alone is nearly
impossible according to my dealer. Don't know if I really need PA or NAV. But your parallel parking
experiences will help. Thanks.

With the nav's back up camera and PA and the tilting side mirrors in reverse, it is very easy.
Without the camera nor PA, it can be difficult. The car is much wider in the rear than the front, so when you parallel park, it looks like you're parking at a diagonal, not parallel to the curb. It's easy to get used to, but it does take a few tries (and hopefully, no curb rashes).

Navi will just show you what right behind you. It wont show or tell you at what angle to back in or how close you are to the curve.
All you need is a practice.
I Can't believe the response you got here about the navi helping you in this situation

I don't have any problems parking my Corolla. The windows are bigger, thus more to see. With the 2IS, it's a whole different story with the blind spots. From the inside, I know that the tail end is only about 1.5' from the back wheels.

I find that it's very easy to park the 2IS, and I don't have the backup camera. The turning radius is so huge, that it takes just a turn and a half to fit the car in, and you're done.

I know that was my first reason of purchasing the upgrade.
