Default Car Mag Reports on IS350

ive looked through a couple magazines...like Consumer Reports and ive noticed that a lot of magazines are claiming that the ride quality of the 2IS isnt very good. personally i find this offensive because i think my is350 rides quite smoothly. i then noticed that these magazines tested the is250 NOT the is350. are they basing the ride quality off the is250 or wat? is the ride different between the two? i dont think its fair to judge the 350 before actually riding in it. of course, i could be wrong, maybe the ride quality just isnt that great compared to the other vehicles in its class. still, to me the is350 rides quiet nicely...anyone who can tell me wahts going on here?

Yeah, the ride quality is actually not all that great, and all reports about it being skittish and bouncy over expansion joints and such are very much true.

I found the ride in the one IS250 AWD that I drove firm and very controlled.

Definitely NOT uncomfortable or harsh at all!

the ride quality depends on the road quality too... i've driven on crap freeways/roads and you can feel the bumps (even though they are dampended some)... but I've driven on fresh new roads/highways and you cant even hear the road... its amazing.

I'd say it just depends on the road. I mean, the IS is not exactly suppose to be a super smooth luxury sedan... I'd say it's a sport luxury sedan, hence the fairly sporty feel.

I have no complaints about the ride and I'm coming from a Benz. So...I don't know what the mags are talking about. I like it.

I have the Sports Package and the ride quality isn't that great. It gets bumpy sometimes. But hey, I don't really care because I'm rollin' in my new IS350 and it looks so damn good.

when i test drove the IS350 i found it to be smooth but I drive a lowered 215/35/18 tire prelude so Im used to firm suspensions. Whenever I get my IS Im gettings springs and adjustable shocks, adjustable shocks do so much for you to adjust ride quality

Perhaps they tested the IS250 with the sport suspension, which is skittish and downright harsh over even the slightest road irregularities I must say. Avoid the sport package if ride quality is important to you.

I have the stock suspension in my 250 and I am very happy with the ride. Its slightly stiff but not jarring at all. I had it on the interstate this past weekend doing 65-85 and it was very smooth to me.

350 w/sport is on the choppy side. I do have to say that either the shocks are breaking in or I'm getting used to it because it's not as noticeable (after 1200 miles) as it was when 'new.'

Cool

Its not like driving an insulated bigger luxury vehicle, its like driving a luxury fun sports car.

You are involved in whats going on and that is what I want and like about it. If you don't want to feel anything get an ES or LS.
