Has anyone else noticed (ok - looked) at the donut spare ?? Mine is an obnoxious bright cacky orange. Talk about a sore thumb. Aside from NOT being a full size spare (with matching alloy wheel) I would expect this ugly thing on like a Ford Pinto or Chevy Vega. I was floored when I peeled back the trunk cover. If nothing else, it will definitely make me get the regular wheel fixed ASAP !!! UGH !!!! Come on Lexus !

I also like the donut v. full size spare as:
1. you get slightly more trunk space (depth) as the donut is skinnier
2. the donut weighs less
3. if you have a full size spare, you could delay in getting the damaged one repaired. If the overall diameter is off due to wear, it could mess up the differential(s) especially on the AWD versions.

True......
I got a flat in the 330i and put the spare full size on. I didn't get it repaired till I was getting rid of the car.....just plain forgot.

The color is there to remind you to get your regular tire fixed asap. That's a true fact.

Well they can't exactly put a full size spare back there unless there is room for 2 full wheels and tires. Don't forget that the rear wheels are larger than the front wheels. So it's a 50/50 shot that the tire that went flat would be the full size spare you have in the trunk. Unless you have the AWD of course.
