is this remote wire just hooked up behind the navi to... what? lol what fuse? I'm going to install a sub and amp as well but i don't have ML

The remote wire can be any wire that turns on/off when the car turns on, such as your cigarette lighter (red wire). The remote wire is what tells when the amp to turn on and off.

I think.......

you can source the remote wire from the factory amp thats in the trunk. there is a thread that shows exactly which wire to tap. but if u have a test light its easy to find.

Here is my clean & simple set-up, not too little, not too much bass.

2 ohm JL 12W3V3, Alpine MRP-500 Mono block, Custom box by Tyler Adams (Custom Enclosures Inc), install by Craig Wardwell @ Auto Sound in Willoughby, OH. I had them put a bass **** in as well.

They also quoted me $1600 for a DVD/NAV unit installed, color matched plastic and all bells and whistles, i might go for it.

CLEAN! Exactly how I was thinking of doing a setup. Why don't you check out the new navi system that came out.

Thank you! I was going for the most simple however clean looking setup, i think i nailed it

The new navi is def. something i'd love to get, but i cannot justify spending 2k on something where for $400 less, i'll have something that's capable of alot more than the new navi (although it seems that it has a ton of crazy features itself).

What do you have in mind for yours?

DIY, it isn't hard. I have no clue about speakers but that sounds like a monstrous setup to me from what I know.
