I'm a speaker noob, help me out! Should I downgrade?
possibly upgrade your components? that is what i had to do. But if you don't want to go through changing out all the components maybe a 10w7 or 8w7 instead? i had a 10w7 before i changed my components sounds really good!!!

the mighty info i'm looking for! can someone tell me which wire it is!? i don't have a test light! please! and does this wire constantly power my amp or will it turn on when the car gets tturned on and off when the cars off? i don't want it constantly on. THANK YOU

i like the sound of focal component speakers. but there are a ton to choose from. i say just shop around and find your personal preference. i tend to lean towards speakers with mainly mid's and high's that are super clear. with little lows or bass. because in every car i have had i run 2-12's

Hey guys, I'm planning on doing this install myself but want to make sure I have it all planned out beforehand. I don't want to do a few hours work and realize I'm missing something or did something wrong.

First... I'm planning on the following setup:

1.) Sub: One 10" JL 10w7. Does anyone know of a good online place to purchase this?
2.) Amp: JL Audio J2 500.1 (J2500.1) 500W RMS, J2 Series Monoblock Subwoofer Amplifier with Bass Remote. Will this amp be alright, I see there are other more expensive "slash series" models? Also, same question as above.. if anyone knows a good online place to purchase this.
3.) Box: I like the one at: http://www.wickedcas.com/product.php...7&cat=6&page=1
4.) 2 channel RCA converter. Going to get the one suggested from this thread, the NE-774V, from http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?24&cat=7
5.) Wiring Kit: I saw a "Stinger" amp kit was suggested in this thread. Is there a particular one I should look at?
6.) Sub Volume Switch: This is the thing i'm unsure about... Do I NEED one of these if I'm keeping the stock headunit? I noticed the amplifier I posted above comes with a volume switch, I'm thinking maybe that would work out okay in the glove compartment.
7.) What's the ideal way or spot to mount the amp? I have a lead foot and want to make sure everything is staying where it's supposed to.

ANY feedback or suggestions is appreciated, sorry if any of the questions are noobish... I did my best on the research.
