Do self Installed Illuminated Scuff Plates Fade in/out?
Has anyone that installed the illuminated scuff plates gotten them to fade in and out like the stock Lux package scuff plates? I'm particularly interested in the premium pkg since that is what I have.

That is how easy/difficult it is.
So anybody have any success with the fade in/out?

It's not that hard to do wo/ the sports package. Step by step instructions have been posted. If you use the wires from the door, they won't fade. I believe if you use the wires from the footwell lights they will fade, but not sure since I didn't use that method.

I'm trying to work out the fade in/out part for the illuminated scuff plates for my car which is the premium package. It pretty much comes down to a RCL circuit. Just have to find the right value for the right time constant for the capacitor which I'm still trying to experiment with, and another factor is the real estate under the scuff plates for the circuit which is a bit cramped.

I installed these in January. I used the footwell lighting connection and they do fade on BUT the light remains on while the car is operational (as long as the footwell light is on).

I just read Lexus27's looong thread that he posted. I understand a bit more now. I think I will just go with the non footwell lighting. I am afraid the light at night might be annoying. I'm sad I won't get any fading though. Thanks for the feedback.

Mine lights up when you open the car door and the inside lights come on too.
FYI, I'm bringing the install instructions tomorrow. Everything is ready to go. Just finished all my detailing. See you in the a.m.
