My car went haywire
This morning after coming back from an errand I stepped out of the car and press the lock button on the door handle as usual but nothing happened. I then tried to press the lock button on the remote but still nothing happened. Then I tried to go to the trunk to test if the it opens but still nothing. I thought the battery for the remote was dead but I noticed that when I press the buttons the red light comes on. I then noticed that the door open light is on in the dash so I did a walk around the car to open and close all the door again but the light was still on when the all doors are closed. Then I tried the door lock button but nothing respond. At this point I'm really worrying so I decided to unplug the battery to see if I can reset the car and it did. Has anyone else have this problem and is it something major?

I also tried the start button but it didn't respond. It seems like the computer froze until I unplug the battery and now its ok again. I hope its nothing major because then it'll really be disappointing for a new car.

yes it has happened to me maybe twice. tried to use the button on the door handle to lock the doors and it would not lock. ended up opening the door, pretting the electrical lock switch to lock, then slam the door shut. it locked. not going to worry about it since i'm getting 99% performance.

I've also experienced this same problem about a month ago when i tried pushing the start button, the display screen between the gauges would say that the key remote was not detect... I reopened and closed the driver door a few more times and eventually the car locked again. Hasn't happened since.

Maybe someone in the area had a non FCC compliant device in the area? not likely, but possible
I know there are quite a few 'people' who build amplified antennaes for various purposes, but i'm not sure what frequencies the keyfobs operate on.
