I used to have a v1, but after that was stolen, I got an sr7 to add to my blinder m27. I think the sr7 is a way stealthier install and it works pretty good. It gives you front and rear laser protection. There isn't really rear radar, but most of the time it'll pick up the radar as you're driving towards it. The arrows on the v1 are nice, but I worry more about laser in washington state, so the sr7 + the blinder are a perfect combination for me and the only thing you see from the outside is 3 receivers in the front under the upper bumper and a receiver on the rear plate.

I know there's some evidence that the V1 detects radar better than the 9500ci so i may wind up sticking with it but I jet wanted to see how the latter looks when installed since that's another consideration.

Thanks
The laser shifters that come with the 9500ci are terrible. You're better off getting a M27/M47 combo or a Laser Interceptor system.

None that I've heard of.
I think LASER detection is still "iffy" as always, but on the bright side my 9500ix has saved me because of scatter when they pegged the cars in front of me!

The ability to pick-up scatter has value, good to know it happens sometimes.

Noticed any (useful) ability to detect stray laser reflection with your 9500ox?

it can detect laser but if you been shot with laser by the time the laser reach your detector that will be too late, if u worries about laser then u can get laser jammer but that illegal.... most of the cops use are radar guns..... and cool thing about 9500ix u get up date just about every tuesday... for 3 months free and 9.99$ a yr .... its a very good investment...

High mounts (rearview) are certainly best for radar, but less so for lasers. As you will miss 90% of the lasers fired at you anyway, up high gives you extra range for standard radar guns. Mine's mounted dash level for quick removal should I see LEO pull up behind me... (Dets. are legal here, but if you get pulled over and they see the unit, you will get no mercy and no warnings... just a ticket.)
Of interesting note on my past car (Audi), the upper factory windshield tint was known for blocking RF due to the metallic nature of the material they embedded in the glass. I couldn't use my RFID toll sticker up high because it could not be read while driving by the reading stations.
Makes me think that similar types of metalized tints up high could actually attenuate inbound radar signals.

I have no clue if the lex has this issue at all, but I couldn't help but think of the Audi owners that did high mounts only to be reducing reception range...

radar detector's aren't illegal in washington state...Laser "jammer's" are "illegal" everywhere though, but just because a LEO can't get your speed from laser, it doesn't mean you're jamming it, it just mean theres nothing coming back to the lidar...Most LEO's use laser now, only smaller cities still use radar. For my money, get something to protect against laser. Radar is easy enough to argue against in court. Laser is point and shot, you see a car, you get that car's speed.

Laser jammers are only illegal in a certain states : http://www.guysoflidar.com/usa-laser-jammer-laws.html. If a cop suspects that you're jamming he'll probably just give you a hard time if its not illegal in his state. The ideal thing to do is slow down once you get hit and turn the jammer off. Jamming to gun (JTG) is the worst thing you can do to **** a cop off. Radar jammers on the other hand are illegal in all 50 states i think (48 at least the very least).

What do you mean about arguing radar in court? Radar units are pretty sophisticated now a days so I don't understand how you would get a ticket thrown away.

good to know about the laser jamming laws, I remember reading somewhere that it was illegal, so at least now theres evidence its at least unknown most places

at least in washington state for me, I've never had a ticket where radar was used and I lost. A majority of the time the gun just wasn't calibrated or the cert for it was just out of date. A few times I got lucky and the cop just didn't show up, but again, that was probably just because it was a smaller city where the cop probably just didn't want to show up...
