It's part of personalize setting. I don't see why they won' t do it for you.
There were a few members who tried to have the dealership turn them off and they said no.... On the other hand, some people have gotten them turned off....
a) how often do you use your high beam bulbs
b) at reduced output, it uses less electricity and also lengthens the bulb life compared to full brightness
What kills filament bulbs is on/off cycles. The life cycle of a filament bulb is directly affected by the number of times it is used.
Hmm... what if the car uses a single bulb for low and high beam. In other words, DRL and low beam are the same bulb. Would turning on/off the headlights be better if it was from "DRL" to "Low" than from "Off" to "Low"?

In theory yes, because the instantaneous extreme filament temperature change is one of (if not the) leading causes of wear on the filament.
My personal opinion: keep the DRLs on the car. They're for safety, not aesthetics. You don't even see them when you are riding the car...
I agree about the safety aspect. Just wish they weren't so darn yellow. Unfortunately I do often catch a glimpse of their reflection in the bumper of the car in front of me.
