I believe the version with "TV" is for DVB-T broadcasts only which is not available in North America. We're predominantly NTSC for analog and ATSC for digital so the OEM "TV" tuner would not work in the U.S.

DVB-T broadcasting is predominantly Europe. The Japanese Lexus have the TV option. Japan and Taiwan are NTSC, ergo it could work in the US.

it wouldnt work 2 years from now... considering all broadcasts will have to be on a new spectrum

I have an ML non nav unit if somebody in SoCal want's to meet up one weekend and try do a direct swap.

Ok so here is the deal with this.

I have asked around--and it doesn’t look like this is going to happen anytime soon.

I suppose the only way we will be able to have anything similar to an OEM head unit--is having to go aftermarket DOUBLE DIN setup, and this is going to require a lot of custom work / fabrication.

Any Southern Californian members know of any reputable radio shops—and think they can handle this task? Let us know!
