Far more than just G-link. The HDD also stores the map data and 8GB of music. The whole system is coming to a New LS near us.

Unless I'm seriously mistaken, G-Link is nothing more than a data communication system that allows downloading of real-time traffic information, making phone calls and sending emergency signals. It does not download map data or music onto the HDD.

That's exactly what it does. It allows the user/subscriber to send/xfer their music to their car HD.

Approximately 10,000 tunes being encoded beforehand in HDD navigation, it is built in. Favorite tune is chosen and the license key which if cancels code via G-Link is purchased, to enjoy it can receive, music “G-SOUND” and, as a karaoke you can utilize with anytime, “AUTOLIVE” is adopted.

Haha guess I missed that part. But I still don't think they're making purchasing music through G-Link the only way to get music onto the HDD. They must somehow allow ripping music from audio CDs and/or via Bluetooth, therefore making the HDD not useless for use in the US.
