Here at my toyota dealership, scions go up 100-200, toyotas go up 200-500 depending on model, so I think Lexus IS should go up 300-500 max.

Sounds about right. They certainly are not going to drop. That's for sure.

guess most car prices go slightly a year for inflation and maybe energy costs

going down?! LOL. Only time car prices go down is with manufacturer's rebates you see with unpopular American cars. The prices of Japanese and German cars never go down (although some people have gotten Acura RL at/below invoice due to the car's poor sales figure). Popular car, second-year in production, forget it. I think the price will go up a little. As a side note, what's the most important is how willing the dealer is to negotiate with you.

The US dollar has been steadily declining against foreign currencies over the last few years. Since the new IS is made in Japan, a weaker US dollar means it costs Lexus more to produce the car in Japan and sell it here.

I'd expect prices to either stay the same or increase very silghtly due to the unfavorable exchange rate.

Currency exchange and the goodies they put on MY07 would definitely increase the price a little bit.

Thanks for the replies, I'm also expecting an increase of about $300-500 max.

I wonder if Lexus will do some small cosmetic changes to the car, like having the tailights slightly modified??
