Default is there anything I can do about woodgrain trim?

I'm shopping for a car right now and I really like IS250 RWD
I can stretch my budget to PREMIUM LEATHER WITH MOONROOF PACKAGE.
I will not go up to SPORT PACKAGE, everything in sport package seems usless for me, except I really like HID and metallic dash trim
I can get aftermarket HID later, but what am I gonna do about this ugly woodgrain trim?
I hate the woodgrain trim so much that if I dont have any other choice I will look for different car.
Can Metallic Dash be added later? aftermarket or something?

thanks

Yes. the metallic dash can be added later. Some CL members with sports packages may want to swap their metallic pieces with the woodgrain. Best to look around and ask...

I am feeling kind of the same way, only for the IS350. Although I don't think the woodgrain is ugly. I do wish you could get the heated and ventilated seats and have a choice of the wood or metallic.

if you are willing to wait the HID option is standalone for ~$850 on the 07 IS350, lot of minor but still beneficial changes with regards to the option packages, more flexible in 07

The stuff you mention is very tacky, literally. It just sticks over top of the existing trim. If you want to do it right, remove all the wood trim and send it off to a refinisher. They will strip, and redo the trim for you in a material of your choice. It will cost a lot more, but will look factory.

The other problem is the trim around the NAV/CD player etc. will no longer match; I'm not a fan of the chintzy color of the sport package center console and I'd love to find a QUALITY replacement for it, but if I did I'd still have that cheap-colored plastic around the NAV.

It's been so long since I've seen a pic of the lux pkg wood center console - is the lux pkg NAV cluster the same color as the sport?

My M3 came with "Titanium" trim. I hated it. I found a set of wood trim off a 330, bought & installed it. (I had a local stereo shop do the hard parts.) Then I sold the "Titanium" trim. The trim sets go for $250-300. However there are a lot more 3 Series BMWs than 2ises.

I have the silver trim and I'd trade anyone mine for a wood one, the catch is, it'd have to
be a face to face meeting for the trade, my trim is in mint condition, no scuffs or scratches and Id expect the same in return..
