Agreed, especially one who knows SC's well. However, I have been asked several times if this is a Lexus. At any rate, being a lover of Toyota/Lexus I am ready of a better platform, and don't mind a bit of luxury with it. As for performance, the mirange to high RPM range is where this motor is tuned to pull best since too much low end is wasted on front wheel drive. It doesn't stop pulling hard until the speed limiter at 135. There are electronics to thwart the limiter, but I have never needed to go faster. And I try to drive safely.
It is only natural for a Lexus owner to look down on Toyota, Toyota is basic, but as a mechanic very familiar with both brands, you should know they share a great deal. And I want to move up to Lexus, I just have to be sure it won't get beat up on by a Toyota.
Aside from that, I can tell you that the ring lands are the first things to go with too much boost. For a fact. You will have to lower compression to use more than 5 psi without damage. That is what I would do.
