I was under the impression that only the I350 had the UV protection glass ...but I might be wrong ...wouldn't be the first time.
In any case, the way I see it ...if you can feel the sun burn your skin through the glass, then the sun can still damage your leather interior. I just checked my IS350 and it does have the UV stamp on the glass, however without tint I still could feel the sun burn my skin through the glass. Although the UV protection glass does provide protection, its my opinion that putting tint is wise. Even if it is light tint ...it's not 100% proof, but it could only help.
Same thing with my IS300. Without tint I would always feel the sun burn my skin through the glass. But after putting tint, I didn't feel the sun as much. I understand putting tint is a matter of preference ...I'm just adding reason for my preference.

Deciding between 50% all around or 35% for my SGM with light gray interior. Don't want to deal with the cops and I actually like the looks of the lighter tint, but I want to keep my car cool.

Obviously UV protection on protects against UV rays, not heat (Infrared) rays, so you'll still feel the heat through the glass, and that heat can definitely still cause leather issues. Not as big of a deal for me, since I don't have leather, but you're not necessarily wrong.

Yes, for you ...no problem because you don't have leather interior. But for most of us that have leather interior its something to think about. Heat can dry out our leather interior. So if we don't clean and condition our leather interiors on a regular basis, then we might consider adding tint. And for those that absolutely do not like tint, then at least they are aware.
Bottom line ...its a matter of preferences.

Tint pricing
I have been quoted $369/- for all windows except front windshield for my IS250. The film to be used is the Llumar CTX Charcoal 30%. The guy has been referred to me by the Llumar rep in my area. Is this a good price?

I paid $302 for 5 windows on my Lancer using 3M color stable. If you're in SA Daddy's Tint and Alarm does real nice work! The windows were already tinted on my IS250 but I'm assuming pricing would be near the same. I had Llumar on my 08 Avenger 5% in the back and 20% up front. I can't remember for sure the price I paid but it was back in Iowa at a small shop. I think around $160 or so, but the guy got a lot of local business from us

If you're going to pay that, make sure they're using laser cut patterns to ensure a perfect fit. Otherwise you have to worry about some serial-knifer slicing and stabbing your rubber surrounds.
