I thought the concern over ceramic tint on the rear window was because of the defroster, for whatever reason. Nothing to do with reception.

 

I just picked up a black sapphire(navy) with black interior. I live in Elk Grove Ca, were there's hella cops. Few of my homies got pulled over for tint. I'm planning to get 3m color stable for 200 with windshield chip repaired. Is that a good price? And what do you guys suggest I get 20 in the rear 5 and 35 in the 2 front or 35 in the 7 rear and 50 in the front 2. Please give me suggestions.

 

Quick question before I got my car the dealer had put a light tint on it, maybe 40 or 35 not too sure either way I want it to be darker, around 20. I had a question because I read on another thread on cl that even if a steamer is used to remove the tint, it would remove some defroster lines on the rear window. Is this true?

 

GFM with black interior. did 38% on the front two and 32% on the back 5

 

I KNOW EXACTLY where this it! My friend has a shop around that area. We should meet up somewhere.

- black leather

- % tint (35% all around, 80% windshield).
- color of your interior - Black leather/interior.
- Aluminum all around, not sure about windshield.
- Johnson Marathon all around, Air Blue 80 on windshield.

 

I used to have 20% all around til I got two $140 tickets and got a warning that on my next ticket my car would be towed.


Now its 50% legal limit in the front but I kept the 20% on the rear

 

Like the title said, after some pics shoot yesterday with a friend after side by side pics, now make me want to get my windows tint, what is brand fim do you recommend? Thanks

 

I'm gonna say Hüper Optik film. But be prepared to shell out $$$ for it.

Both Llumar and 3M make great quality window tint that is more reasonably priced tho. I personally have tinted all my cars with Llumar and never had an issue. No discoloration, bubbling, peeling etc.

 

I use 3M on my IS and I'm satisfied with it. I've also used SunTek on other cars and it was good too.

 

I've read that Johnson is good. This was what I was going to get through my local tint shop. Have yet to have the job done though.

 

thanks guys, i don't mind paying for a little higher in quality film, I rather pay them once and get done right, I have seen on some cars local look like they used cheap film?, the color was fade, I don't want film color fade

 

Yeah just make sure you ask for the specific tint you want used. Don't go in for the "tint special" that some tint shops offer, you'll get the lowest quality stuff they have
Just find a good tint shop and confirm they sell the brand of tint you want

 

the reputation shop that Lexus dealer use as the third film tint installer here that they use the Llumar and Suntek film, that what they told me, but they are book up until september 27th
