Default Sterling Interior

Just wondering how the sterling leather is so far for you guys that have it. I've had a similar color leather for the past 3 years and though I am a fanatic about my car, I cannot get the subtle years of blue jeans and belt wear off the seat.

I know it's early on, but does anybody have any comments yet?

Thanks.

none yet, seats still look near brand new, no creasing, or shininess..13,500 miles.

Good concern - just got ours IS350 with Sterling (by far the best interior color choice) and will take notice also. We had a Benz with ash grey and it did start to show some blue from the jeans I think. What can you do though - ain't putting seat covers over the super buttery soft leather I just paid for!

3mo 5K miles on my sterling so far and it looks great. I try to make an effort to cover the center console with my coat or fleece so im not always laying my arm on it. But otherwise its doing quite well. Leather wipes are a good quick clean every other car wash.

definitely wipe them down with the armor all wipes after each wash. it only takes 5 minutes. keeps them looking and smelling like showroom too!

Sterling is something you definately need to maintain. I am 160 and starting to see cracks on my seat but I just bought some Zaino to keep the seats nice and new. It's my first experience with Zaino so I will let you guys know how it works out.

I'd recommend Meguire's, Lexol, or another higher end leather wipe product over Armor All. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, like somebody else said don't put Armour All on leather...especially the quality of leather in a Lexus. Get a product made specifically for leather.

On, the sterling leather question I would be more concerned with abrasion on the bolsters over the long term rather than dye transfer. If you are wearing a brand new unwashed pair of Levi's or something obviously that could be a problem. However, with the cooled seats ( you do have these, right? ) the perspiration that facilitates colors transfer should be minimizeds.

Bottom line: I wouldn't shy away from the sterling just because you fear stains. Personally, it is my favorite.

Look great after 6,000 mi....

I simply maintain them with Lexol wipes... one set of cleaners... one set of conditioners...

I do this approx every 2-3 months... seems about that time...
