Default 4th OF JULY weekend

Do you think its a good time to go look at some dealer during this 4th of JULY weekend? My wife has been very unpatient with the wait from our dealer. She reaLLy wants to get the car already. The question is can I get a good deal at the dealer during 4th of JULY?

It's the end of the month. You should do it this weekend and i don't think they care about holidays. They care about the end of the month because that's when they count how much they sell in their inventory. So you might get a good deal if you do it this weekend.

I agree. This weekend is not only the end of the month, it's the end of the quarter. Go now.

No its different for many companies, but for most it follows the calendar jan / feb / mar Q1, apr / may / jun Q2 and so on. I don't know for certain Lexus follows the calendar fiscal year, but I've always assumed so because of the massive end of year push for 'December to Remember' sales.

Agree. The best time to go looking to buy, is on the last day of the month. The slower the month, the better.

I bought mine at 9 PM on May 31st. Didn't arrive at the dealership until after their doors closed. And I ended up with an unsually good deal on the car. $1500 off sticker, and paid $500 for the $2200 chrome wheels.

Is the dealer's markup on the chome rims really that high?

Wouldn't the weekend be too late for end-of-month discounting? My recollection when doing this (at a Nissan dealer) was that the dealer wanted the car delivered before the end of the month, i.e., it wasn't signing the sales contract, but rather taking delivery that affected his monthly numbers.

That's their "retail" price for the chrome job, yup. I can understand it, to some degree. They have to un-mount the tires, send the wheels in to be plated (which is rather expensive), then re-mount/balance the tires. They told me that the dealership's cost to do everything was $1100.

Correct. The car actually has to be delivered.

Hey FF, i also bought mine at 9 on May 31 at Keyes in Van Nuy,, i definely think that you will get a better deal. Try to call all the local dealers first and talk to internet manager. I would try JOE (korean dude) at Keyes van nuy, he's a fleet manager.

I''ve seen some dealerships put 20" chromes on a GS and add $7k above the sticker price! Some GS430 out there are selling with a $70+k sticker on it!!!

I'd strongly suggest you go tonight or tomorrow to get your deal. Saturday is July 1 and you lose your bargaining power.
