Default Dealer screw up

Get to the dealer today to pick up my is350 and what do i see to my disbelief....the car i ordered was a 350 with sports option what i see is a 350 with luxo option!!!!!The dealer offers me the same price as the sport....my questions

1 does the sport suspension really feel that different???
2 When does the limited slip come into play???will i miss it???I'm not going to drag the car
3 can i sell that wood trim or swap it with someone for the metal??

Get what you want. Don't settle unless he makes you a super deal. Same price is not good enough IMO.

Negotiate with the dealer...

1) Ask them to swap the suspension with the same as found on the sport. It's a relatively simple job to lower the car on the sport's springs.

2) That won't differ too much compared to the lux version. You'll be fine.

3) Find someone to swap the wood trim with the metallic trim. You'll find a handful of people that would want to do that.

Good luck and keep us posted with the progress!

Yup.

Also, with the lux package, you get illuminated door sills. You don't get that with the Sport package.

And with the Sport package, you get aluminum foot pedals. You don't get that with the Lux package.

obviously you don't want to purchase something that you won't be happy with, regardless of the price. all i am saying is if you can get something better for less, go for. it's up to you but honestly i don't think it is necessary for you to go in for the kill....certainly don't settle for something inferior if that's what you think.

You're paying $40k+ for a car...it's no chump change. I say make the dealer get EXACTLY what you want or else you walk. And they better throw in some other goodies for your inconvenience. Yea sure you can swap out a few things like the pedals and suspension but why pay all that money to end up doing all of that extra stuff? You requested a certain type of car and that's what you should get.

The wood is real, though it is a paper thin veneer with an extremely glossy finish that some here say looks fake. The sport package has the base level trim, which is just metallic colored plastic.

Wink

Keep the lux package, I love mine. Have the dealer change the springs to seal the deal..... thats the best of both worlds IMO.

Get them to order you some sports pedals for free and change them out. If you've read on the forum before you'd know they are a pain to get and swap out. Get them to do it free. You do get more with the Lux package, including rear sun shade which I don't think you get with the sports. The metallic trim is the same as the metallic on the sides of the door handles next to the wood. It's a cleaner look, but it may look really cheap to have that all around the shifter.

I say go for it, and make sure you get a good deal out of it. Swap the springs if you want to. Don't just settle, bargain with them!
