$500 to install the spoiler?
#3
I bought my spoiler from my.is and it was less than 200$ painted.
I bought heat gun from ace for 18 bucks and took out all the screw. then use more 3M tapes and tape it.
works flawless! cost me like 230$.

That is a tad high but you do get some degree of assurance with the dealership.
I negotiated my spoiler as part of my vehicle but I've installed a spoiler on my MDX (well, it's not really a spoiler) and it wasn't that difficult.
Tools and materials:
- drill
- appropriate size and quality drill bits
- small mallot/hammer
- center punch/tap
- compressed air (the aeresol cans are great)
- masking tape
- touch up paint
- silicon
1. I'm not sure what panels and fittings ahve to be removed in the trunk so I won't comment but do this first.
2. Very thoroughly clean and prepare the surface.
3. Align the provided template on the deck of your trunk and tape it down.
4. Mark your drill holes using the template guide - a Sharpie works well.
5. Measure again, and then again for the hell of it.
6. Punch or tap the drill spots so that your smaller drill bit has a 'starting dent'
7. Drill the pilot holes (smaller than required 1/8"- this will make for easier and safer subsequent drilling).
8. Using the pilot holes, drill the required hole size using the recommended drill bit size.
9. Blow the shavings off with compressed air (don't wipe them off, they will scratch).
10. Test fit the spoiler and remove.
11. I did this because I'm a bit **** but I then painted the exposed metal in the freshly drilled holes - touch up the bare metal.
12. Let paint dry - have a beer as you just drilled into a brand new vehicle.
13. Peel off the 3M tape and fit the spoiler.
14. Bolt down the spoiler.
15. Silicon the bolts (again, me being ****).
16. Reassemble trunk lining.
17. Appreciate and adore your work.
Don't forget to take pictures for the others that have yet to DIY.
