Wow, the car held up very well! It's good to know and see how well it held up to help protect you.

On a side note, did either one of your front rims survive with no damage or scratches? I just got my first curb rash yesterday.

I didn't look at the rims, but I'm pretty sure there are scratches. I've gotten scratches before and got them fixed.. $60/per rim. It sucks how they get scratched so easily.

If they decide to fix, I'll probably take it to Carmax and get another 2IS.

hv128, sorry you had to go through that. i feel your pain, i had a wreck before too and i know how it is.

thank goodness you weren't hurt, looks like it hit the driver's side pretty hard. i'm surprised the car held up so well considering it got hit at 45 mph... lexus rocks.

i'm sure it's a total loss already, once the airbags are deployed it's usually a total loss.

Yep, especially with a side collission where the whole chassis bends and the car will never be "true" again.

EDIT: After looking at the pics some more, I noticed that none of the windows are broken, or don't appear to be anyway... Are your tints keeping them together, or did they just not shatter?

Thumbs up Lexus is the BEST!

Looking at the pics, looks like the car did what it was designed to do. It really held up very well. I agree with you in wanting to buy the same car. Glad your o.k. Looks like you'll be busy for a while to get this ironed out. Good Luck! Hopefully since you only had the car for 6 mo. your insurance co. will give you full replacement.
Keep us posted and take pics of the NEW baby when you get it.

Look at it this way, you can get an 07. And you dont have to get a package to get HIDs.

Of course if you did get any package or nav or something... salvage what you can!

Yes, actually the windows didn't crack or shatter, which was really surprising. I think it was also due to the fact that the truck was dropped so the impact was lower than normal. But of course, the curtain airbags (on both sides) and the side panel airbags came out.

That's nice that they included HIDs in 07 models. Too bad I can't wait that long. I need a car ASAP. I hate this piece of crap I'm driving right now.. Chevy Cobalt (rental of course). No power side mirrors, no power windows, no power lock. I feel so ancient driving this crap.

Glad to hear that the IS potentially saved your life; sorry to hear about your tragedy. Hopefully you will have a full and quick recovery.

Can you repost those pictures, they don't seem to be working.

Hi, HV128 - Just saw the pics.

Front & Right look ok, but you never know until a qualified shop gives it a thorough inspection. They may fix it; however, I'm with you, "I wouldn't want to keep it.

When the time comes, are you going to go with the 250 or 350?
