Default Simple clock issue or bigger problem?

I've had my car for 3 weeks now (over 2k miles >_<) and when I pressed my start button today, my clock was off (early) by 45 minutes. Is this normal?

The GPS data stream includes accurate time-of-day data. It's disappointing that Lexus doesn't use that data to set the clock and keep it on-the-money.

I believe Honda and I know that VW use the real-time stream from the GPS satellites to set the clock. The sat-nav I have (Eclipse) in one of our vehicles won't even let you change the clock, only the daylight savings time and time zone.

Yup, the one they plucked from the Corolla parts bin. They could have saved the 99 cents and instead overlayed a much classier looking GPS synchronized clock on the main LCD by getting the programmers to write a little extra code.
