Default Totaled?

Hey everyone, i haven't been around in awhile. Been so busy with work and school!

Well..unfortunately something horrible has happened, and it was 110% my own fault. I have gotten into an accident in my 2IS. Four of the airbags deployed, windshield is cracked...and I do not know if they are going total it or what. Any opinions would be appreciated, pics are attached...Thanks guys

Sorry for the 3 large pictures!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Since you didn't say anything to the contrary, I assume you weren't hurt? That's the most important thing.

I agree with the others, you don't want to fix a car that badly damaged.

When you feel a bit better, perhaps you could tell us about the accident.

Damn, I have a BWB too, makes the pictures hard to look at.

The important thing is that youre OK, cars and money are just numbers and replacable, your life isnt.

Thank you for your concern. I do not want to fix it, but do I have a choice if insurance says it is worth fixing?

Yes I am okay. That little car DID do its job in entirety. Saved me from worse injuries. Mostly it was my shoulder that got beat up from the seat belt but besides that I'm ok.

Basically what happened was obvious. I rear ended someone..and this was in residential going about 25-30 mph (at most). There was no braking involved, looked up and smashed right into them. Stupidest thing I've EVER done...

oh man... that sucks >_<

what part of cali are you in?

What is the protocol for scrapping these things? Like what if I wanted someone's window pillar cause mine is messed up... do these cars usually go to junk yards or soemthing?

frame damage, it could be totalled with the addition of all the airbags that went off

Hahahhahaha.. Yeah I wouldn't want that back either, that frame looks mangled..
Especially the fact that it's damage in the front. I doubt it will ever be the same again..

Ummm... nowhere in any of those pictures is there a frame.

Regardless, airbag deployment = totalled. I've never heard of an insurance co. not totalling a car where the airbags have deployed.

Glad to hear you are OK. What was your distraction? Were you watching DVD courtesy of Nav Hack?

My bet is that your car is NOT totaled. It just looks a lot worse that what it really is. It's not like you rolled the car or got hit on the sides or multiple angles. I'm fairly sure it will cost a pretty penny to fix, but it's definetely not totaled in my opinion. Glad to hear you were ok and hopefully the car you hit they are all ok as well.
