All parts of the base audio system are made by Pioneer.

Is that what you did to your IS? Provide more wattage to the stock speakers
and add a sub? I was suggested by an installer, to do that. He claimed he's
done that in many other lexus's over the yrs and it really wakes the stock speakers up..
I would think since in stock form they already seem to break up when you crank it up,
so wouldn't more power produce even more distortion?

no, just add a mono amp for a sub. I did that for my titan

and it sounds really good and I bet the same for the is cause it sounds better stock than my truck did stock

basically it just takes away the bass from the stock speakers and sends those freq's to the mono amp and sub

its cheap and simple and works well imo

i think my stock system sounds pretty plain

it can't compare to my previous kenwood with infinity speakers.. i dont just mean bass.. but the highs arent that bright..

how do you guys set the bass/mid/treble?

i have mine on 4/4/5 and its still kinda plain for "13" speakers..
