Same thing with the 2nd gen GS300 / 430. Exact same 16" wheels stock and 17" wheels as upgrades.

As a TT owner I said, so what? It just means that many more non-enthusiasts will underestimate my ride. I love it.

Thats the way I look at it as well.

I am more confused when looking at wheels to distinguish trim. I know Bimmer 3 series offer a lot of factory wheels, I still can't distinguish the 330 from the 325 without looking at the badge.

If I owned an IS350, I wouldn't care. At the end of the day, it's a 350 no matter what wheels are on a 250.

I would say because Lexus KNEW you all 350ers are going to sell those beautiful 18" stock rims to 250ers. Then Lexus would have no chance to rip those 250ers off. So, the dealerships just put the 18" rims like almost a standard option to every new IS. Then every 250ers would have a set of 18" and those were bought from the dealer!

I hope you guys understand what I am saying...

I don't mind that the 250's came with the same wheels my 350.

anyone who does is vain and immature, IMO.

I don't care that the 250 and 350 look identical because every time I pass a 250, I smile to myself and think "haha! I'm fasterrrrr than you!"

But...

I still got a lotta love for my 250 brothers & sisters!

Ya then they think to themselves.. "Ha ha.. I paid a LOT less than the IS350, and my car still looks the same."

Who cares really... a car is a car. In the end, someone will always be better than you... I don't need to have my car as a symbol of uniqueness when everyone and their mom in my area already have IS350s all over the place.

what you should be more concerned about is that people don't mistake the IS for the corolla!

when i had an ES, a lot of people mistake it for the camry, or vice versa. whats the big deal if the 250 looks exactly like the 350. just be happy no one mistakes your IS for a toyota! that would be more insulting.

Ditto that. Every time I see one on the road, the only distinguishing feature that stands out at a glance, happens to be the stock wheels...and not even at times, if the car is in motion. I prefer the approach Mazda took with their 3 car, where the hatch and sedan versions don't share the same body panels...great attention to detail, and it keeps even the different versions of the 'same' car just that much more unique.

For all the IS350 owners, do you feel you should have gotten different and better rims than the IS250?
Actually, I like the wheels on the 250 better...but I don't plan to keep the stock wheels anyway, as the aftermarket makes them lighter, and better looking (IMO). If you want "better" wheels, why not just buy them?

some people don't care about all-out performance but still want their car to look sporty--nothing wrong with that. Carrera 4S has most of the exterior parts of the Turbo, but not the performance parts.

My goodness is this serious? Well then I strongly suggest buying some HREs and you will not feel cheated.

To 2GS 17" wheel and tire option from Lexus was ONLY $215. But if you bought at the dealer or after, you paid at least $1000.

As for the iS, I think its GREAT both wheels are on both cars.
