My G-Meter Run IS 350
I did a run with a G-Meter today and here are the results... what do you guys think? M3 Territory? Think I can go pick on some M3s now? I bet I can take on quite a few if they make any kind of mistake on launching their car they're toast!
Temperature was Sunny and 80 Degrees according to the car.
I'm very impressed with the car. Bone Stock! I need to get JoeZ pipe and Tanabe or some exhaust now!!! Just to make it faster. LOL
1/4 13.63 secs @ 100.6 mph
1000 ft. 11.38 secs
1/8 8.75 secs @ 81.3 mph
330 ft. 5.73 secs
60 ft. 2.03 secs
0 to 100 mph @ 13.25 secs
0 to 90 mph @ 10.53 secs
0 to 80 mph @ 8.25 secs
0 to 70 mph @ 6.55 secs
0 to 60 mph @ 5.00 secs
0 to 50 mph @ 3.83 secs
0 to 40 mph @ 2.73 secs

Im not sure how accurate those are, but if they are, congrats on your time.. The Joez intake
pipe is not a "cold air intake".. Its just a direct replacement for the factory intake pipe..'

I'm not sure how accurate either but it was a run with other BMWs and they all got worse times than the IS. Its a good comparison if you use manufacture quoted numbers and the number we got as a reference... It'll show at least whos faster... I also did 2 small runs with the 545i Step and I walked away both time from 50 mph up. I'm sure its a different story in triple digits but I dont play in triple digits.
545i SMG
0 to 60 mph 5.6x secs
550i SMG
0 to 60 mph 5.3x secs
545i Step
0 to 60 mph 5.8x? secs (I'm sorry I forgot the best time. I know the worse... 6 secs... )
2005 G35 Sedan Auto
0 to 60 mph 6.63 secs

Hey that's pretty cool.
Depite how accurate the results may or may not be (although they look pretty close), you were able to test the other vehicles with the same device in similar conditons.
I'm not familiar with the G-Meter and factors that might affect results but in the least, these are very nice 'digital' empirical comparisions. Nice.

Hey thats pretty close to your time dnszoom... how did you get your 1/4 mile run time?
you got 13.36 @ 104.6 MPH
that correlates pretty well with mine. 13.63 @ 100.6 MPH
0.27 secs to go 4mph makes sense at that speed... according to the G-Timer the 0 to 10 MPH is 0.25 secs in my first post...

That would be a good tool to use for comparisons between cars that are all using it, or when modding you can use it for a baseline, then use it again after a mod is complete. Definatly wouldn't use it to compare actual track times though.

Those are some good times; shows the potential of the IS350, just think what a supercharger, etc. will do.
I could imagine what some of those guys were thinking after seeing your IS pull 5 seconds, must have been priceless!
P.S. That white 5 series w/the chrome quad exhaust is gorgeous!

But a 545 SMG guy thought he was going to be able to beat the IS before we decided to do this run / test. I myself thought the 545 can take the IS too but I guess now I dont think so...
Yes the white 550 is AWESOME! did a lot of work to it.
