black 2is owners.. paint soft?

Indeed the chips, dried rain spots, bird poop (although this has occured only on my windshield once thus far), etc are pains for our Black 2IS. I am an garaged. Oh well.
But like someone mentioned, it bothered me initially like first two months, but that's just the way it is with our Black 2is's. I previously has a black Corolla that I bought new and drove for several years. I really did not recall having all these issues...maybe swirls but it did not stress me as much on a Rolla. Our cars are so hot that, I wash (wipe down) at least every 3 days and wipe the stock wheels every other day...sometimes multiple times in one day. The brake dust is unreal. I can't stand it!
At night or overcast (my favorite) the car looks so clean.
If you are even driving your car, then this ***** will happen. Forget about it.

It's not just Lexus paint, my 2001 black BMW has many, many rock chips and 2 HUGE spots where the previous owner left bird droppings that has etched itself DEEP into the paint. You can actually see the outlines and trajectory of the poop when it hit and the splash damage. It's actually funny in a way...Bomber flying at 35mph heading in NW direction and dropped 2 A-bombs that hit the city center and causing splash damage in a radius of 10 miles..... Nothing you can do about it except my new WHITE IS

Totally in agreement on the black paint here. Not only do you have easily visible swirls, bird crapo, and rock chips, but other environmental hazards are dangerous...
I got my car in February and it was cold but dry out, then after about 2 weeks we got a vicious snowstorm... They switched from covering the roads in salt (yay, no salt!) to an anti-freeze solution... I washed my car as soon as I could as I was stuck behind a truck spraying this crap on the road...Unfortunately the passenger side of my car looks like it's covered in waterspots... waxing/buffing help to hide them but a few fresh washes and there they are clear as day.
I'm giving up on colored paint entirely. I'm just gonna sand it down to the metal and clear coat it!
