Slightly off topic, but can we determine the production # of our IS from the VIN ???
On my Acura, the last 5 digits of the VIN is the production # - ie 2HNYD18945H12345 = #12,345 made that model year. Anyone know how to decipher the VIN ???

J=Japan = Country of Origin
N= Nissan = Manufacturer
K=Infiniti = Manufacturing Division
C= VQ35DE = Engine Type
V5= G35 = Model/Series
4= 2 Door Coupe = Body Style (1 = 4-Door Sedan)
E = Air bag, restraint system information
8 = The VIN check digit, always 0-9 or X
3= 2003 = model year
M= Tochigi = Manufacturing plant code
200001= Production Sequence Number, Serial number
So as you suggest, your Acura would have been the 12,345th car made model YTD.
