Thanks for the clarification. That's what I thought I read in all the nav hack threads. Now if I could just disable the voice prompt for the voice commands and go straight to the beep...

Now THAT would be a nice feature.....takes 10 minutes just to dial a phone number....waste of time. The only command I even THINK of using is "75 degrees" and "I'm hungry".

One of the menu options in the Setup menu will disable the voice prompts and go straight to the beep. I forget which one it was that I used, but I no longer have voice prompts. Give it a try.

Press Menu, then Setup. There are options regarding voice guidance. (You'll need to use the arrows on the left of the screen to get to pages 2 and 3). I don't recall exactly what it says, but I recall it sounding more over-arching than it was, i.e., it sounds like you'll be turning off all voice guidance for the nav, also, but you won't be. Sorry, I can't be more specific, but I'm not in the car to get the exact wording for you. I'll check later, but I'm sure you'll be able to figure this out for yourself based on the information above.

I don’t know what all the fuss is. Instead of changing a destination just cancel it and put in a new one via the voice recognition feature. You can do this while driving.
It may take a minute or so, but IMHO beside the nav-hack being a potential safety hazard, it makes doing so unnecessary.

You can turn off the voice prompts for regular voice commands, but it doesn't affect the dial by number voice prompts. They are still there and it does take forever...
