Did you intentionally leave the RE050s off the list ?
I know they're heavier, and the tread is a bit softer, but the price is comparable to the Dunlops . . .

I think I will try the Avon's on the 350. I had a set on my old eclipse and they balanced up easy, very little weights, rode smoothly and they were quiet. Very sure footed in the rain also. I was pleased. They were 17's. They wore better than the Falken's I had previously. They are made in the US, cause Avon and Cooper tire merged. I had ordered them from tire rack. It was a much better price than the local guys were trying to sell. Even after having paid for shipping and having them mounted and balanced. Saved about $20 a tire.

you can usually get discount tire to come reasonably close to a tirerack price with a match if you show them the online price, thats what my mom did. It might be slightly more than tirerack but you have down the road and quicker service if you have problems

great spreadsheet
Working on a spreadsheet that will help me down the road pick the next set of tires. Here is what I have so far. I'm leaning towards the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's because of the excellent grip and light weight, but just not sure about the wear characteristics. I drive 15k a year, so maybe it won't be a big deal.
they dont have the toyos at tirerack i noticed. also, are there any pirelli's that would fit the bill?

The Michelin PS2 are the best!! If you have the cash. I'm not even going to wait for the dun's to go before I put PS2's on it . . . unless I get wheels in the first month.

I just put some on. They're quieter, ride smoother, and don't tramline as much as the dunlops. They're expensive but worth it.

i had Toyo Proxes 4's on my girls VW 1.8t, they were decent tire, nice handling but the wear wasnt so hot. they only have a treadwear rating of 300 which to me isnt to good. They were definitly better than my Pirelli PZERO Nero's I had on my celica, but i am looking for new tires for my 250AWD now. Prolly need to get them soon, just not sure what to get.

According to Car and Driver the best tire is the Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3. The Continental's ContiSportContact 2 and Yokohama's ADVAN Neova AD07 take second and third place.

I never liked V shape threads tho, looks to aggressive to me. I want a tire that has lots of flat patches with longitutenal threads. If you look at an F1 tire since the no slick rule, it has simple longitutenal channel threads. No gimick, no small sips here and there, no Z, S or B shape thread lines. The ruber compound is what matters most.

i have the toyo t1-r's now, i will not buy them again. their sidewalls are way too soft. i understand that was done in the interest of ride comfort, but steering response and precision has suffered. adjusting the psi has not helped either. the treadwear has been decent, even tho i've only had the for 7k miles. their noise levels has been acceptable, but i just cant stand the soft sidewalls. good luck man.
