Thumbs up

As you may know, I drive a ’04 G35 Coupe. The IS250 is really my wife’s. When my lease is up next fall I’ll be getting a new car (I think I’ll buy rather than lease this time). Whereas the new G35 sedan looks good, I’m waiting to see the redesigned 2008 G35 coupe.

But I must admit that after driving our IS, I may just go for a 2008 IS350 (with his and hers IS’s in our garage, no less). The Lexus is a great car, without those squeaks and rattles that seem to hamper the Infiniti driving experience. And of course, the Lexus accessories, including a better nav, are impressive.

I will say however, that my Infiniti dealer has been first-rate (Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys). The service is excellent. They’ve always taken very good care of my coupe, and have never gouged me in any way. They’ve always given me free, late-model loaners as appropriate. I know that Lexus service is just as good if not better, but that will not be criteria when I make a final decision.

x2. That would have been my choice if I ever needed the extra room. Congrats.

The main issue I have with the G35 is the aesthetic appeal - both interior and exterior.

If I were to get one, I'd wait for the coupe to come out because that looks gorgeous... too late now, though. Already got my IS350, and I love it.

I have a G35 coupe & love it, but for some reason, the G35 sedan(old or new) never does anything for me despite a lot of similarities to the coupe including performance, but I have zero interest in even the new G sedan.
One thing I can say is I never like it's rear(old or new, although the new is slightly better), but I can't really pinpoint other reasons why I felt so differently between the coupe & the sedan.

In exterior appearance, I like the IS350 a lot better although the new G sedan's interior looks much improved from the current at least from pics.

I am looking forward to the new G35 coupe though, I just hope they change the taillights a little, otherwise, I expect the production version of the coupe to look great.

as far as the 335 goes, i think itll be very potent, but im not so sure that itll be outright dominance. the IS is down by 15hp from it, which is a good bit, but not *that* much. the new g35 was rated at 306hp but infiniti has pulled that, so maybe they upped the ante.

the sheer torque of the 335 will make it super drivable and responsive in daily driving, but in terms of open road acceleration, horsepower under the powerband is what matters, and in that regard itll be very close among these cars.
I have to agree here. My only concern was the reliability of a German car. I getting close to purchasing a used M3 or m5, but all the problems that I hear about have kept me from pulling the trigger on purchasing one. In the end it'll be between those exact three cars (335 g35 or is350)
