Default What you guys think of G35??

I know this isn't the best place to ask questions like this...
But, I just wanna hear from the owners if you guys might regret getting IS over other cars.. .
I'm kind of having trouble deciding between IS350 vs G35...

I would like to keep same brand cars in my garage since I'm getting RX350 for my wife... But, G35 seems to be better deal for $$$

07 G35 i take? Its seems like a very worthy contender to the IS, the 06 and back one really isnt a good enough contender, since its last generation

The one thing I like about the upcoming G35 is the 7500rpm, but prefer the 2IS overall. The way the controls look in relation to the brushed aluminum (or plastic...whatever it is). It just looks like they took a blank canvas and just started throwing stuff at it. It doesn't look particularly well integrated at all. This is the thing you normally sit in kit-car interiors where they'll take controls from an existing car and place them on a pretty barren surface.

I like the guages of the new G35, but dislike how they threw in orange in the middle.

I'm leaning toward Lexus, too.
I'm even considering GS300 now.... What you guys think about that?

I am in the same boat. I think the G35 will offer about the same performance or better, comprable exterior looks, slightly less interior warmth and quality as the IS350 all for $100-150 less a month or so...To me when comparing price, I think you have to make to call between the IS250 and G35...Going to be hard to take a 200HP car over a 300HP car...Even if the dash rattles and the interios is not quite as nice...It's bigger too (the G that is)...But I swore it was exus quality or nothing for me on my next ride...Hell, even the accord I drive now rattles too much for my sensitive ears...Going to be a fun end to this year!

I had a sedan when they first came out and then I traded it in for a coupe in '04. I won't buy another one. Too many quality control issues with little or no action from Infiniti. Among several other things, both of my G's had the rocking seat issue. More than 4 years later, guys are still complaining about it with their '06. The tire feathering issue was the final straw for me as I couldn't afford to keep feeding the car expensive 19" tires to chew up with abandon.

They do offer their cars at a decent discount v. lexus/bmw/audi but the corners that were cut become obvious after you own them for any length of time.

My IS is as tight as a drum even on bad gravel roads. The g's had more rattles on smooth highway roads than the rental cars I get for work/vacation. They did have a smoother ride compared to my IS with the sport package. The gas mileage is also not that great for the VQ. I got 21-22 MPG with the G's on my daily commute (90% highway) after they were fully broken in. I'm getting close to 27 MPG now with the same commute with just over 4K miles.

Great car, I had the coupe, but really like the IS better. My uncle has a G sedan and its ok. I really don't like the new styling. Actually waited till the new style was out to see if I'd buy that or the IS... well we all know what path I took Looks too much like a little M35/45 to me.

IF you can find any still on the lot in the color/color options you like you will get a very good deal on them. However the 07 GS350 just came out (GS with the IS350 engine). The GS300 was 245 hp or so, depends if you need the power or not

Try to test drive IS350, 07 G35, 06 GS300, 07 GS350 and analyze their features, price, etc when you can

One thing to consider about the G35 is the mileage. If I recall correctly, the 07 G35 is a modified VQ engine. The current G35 gets something like 18/25, with the real driving results a lot worse than the 18/25 posted (my friend gets somewhere in the upper teens for his mileage).

While mileage isn't a big deal (well, it's bigger now considering the rising cost of gas), when its added on to the typically inferior interior, Lexus vs Infiniti reliability, pricing (G35 should be cheaper, but it should be more than the current G35), and etc....it could add up. Of course, this topic will come up again when the 07 G35 actually comes out with their options/pricing/reviews/etc

the new VQ has 80% newer parts and claims 19/25 or so, maybe the mileage discrepancies were with the old one, maybe it was corrected with this new VQ. People with the IS have reported close or maybe even better than sticker mpg which is 21/26 I believe. Some people have gotten over 30 mpg highway and 22ish mpg city

The 07 G35 is one ugly car and sice it probably weighs more and is a high rev engine its probably not as fast as the IS350 even with a manual.
