nicely done... not sure why people think its a crime to strip out a 35k+ car and try and make it a track car.

wow alot of these responses were pretty harsh and off-base.

I think you guys need to realize what RoRo's goals for the car are. This isn't his daily driver, he was looking for a fun project car and picked the IS350.

RoRo's goals have been to track and race the car...he is aiming for 12s in the 1/4 mile. Those numbers just cannot be reached at this time without some weight mods.

He even bought some blinged out 19s for driving around the street and some 17s with drag radials for the track.

Read up on his threads and you'll understand a bit more where he is coming from:

I was going to do this to a new GTO, which I bought last June, but I just didn't like the car overall so I got rid of it. I am happy overall with this car and how it has started. My next goal is to get an intake, drag radials, and of course remove some more weight.

I would have bought the Mitsu Evo VIII or an Subaru Impreza, they have better weight / power ratio.

agreed, but again on one of his posts he said he wanted to do something new.

Tracking/modding evos and sti have been done multiple times over. We all know what they are capable of and the results of mods have been well established.

the is350 is new ground, which is what he was going for.

watch that tranny shatter when he gets his power too high, the reason there is no manual 350 is because toyota doesnt have a modern tranny that can handle IS350 power/trq, the supra tranny is ancient tech now

Odd car to choose for gutting and making track ready, but it's your money.

I simply don't understand paying $35,000 for a car with tons of luxury options, removing at least $10,000 worth of that luxury, and spending even more to make it be something it isn't. Why not just buy an old POS car and build it up?

Once you get that car into the 10s, you'll be able to look back at all of your efforts...and

Man, it's funny how some people just don't get it. You simply don't understand, ok, but don't make it seem stupid. To many and hopefully to RoRo, spending $35,000 + all mods, is not a big deal. To you, that money could be much better spent, if at all. OBVIOUSLY, RoRo can afford to do this and is having a blast in doing it. Of course he could buy and old POS and build it up. Do you really think ol RoRo didn't think of that one! He probably has done that many times already. Man I don't mean to slam you, but WTF, just sit back and watch what he does and have fun with it. I can assure you are boy RoRo is!!!!

Give it hell RoRo!!
