Default seat bealt recall for me.

Okay so i know most of you already have taken care of the seatbelt re-call!
i was in europe, so i couldnt.
but i have an appointment on thursday!
i have a couple of questions.
how long does this take? (they said they would give me a rental!)
and more importantly.
i have cashmere color seatbelts.
i want to swap them for black ones.
anyway you think i can get lexus to do this for me.
i tried and there being little punks about it.
anyone have any ideas?!!
and i wanna lie bout some other stuff thats "wrong" with the car and take that rental to malibu for the day.
hahahaha.
okay so any ideas are welcome.
remember i want black seat belts!!
thanks!

i dont really see why it would be a problem for them to put in black seatbelts for you..the seatbelt recall only take about an hour to do...i wasnt offered a rental when i got mine done and i was also getting my 5k done at the same time

good luck getting the rental! have fun with it in malibu

oh and btw your car looks great brravvo

hi! quick question! I had my car since april but I've never received the seatbelt re-call. Does this mean my car was not affected?

Thanks in advance,

I just picked up my car from the dealer. I had them do the 5000 mile service and the seatbelt recall. I dropped my car off Saturday morning, shop was too busy, so they finished the job this morning.

I also received free gas fill up.

only cars built before a certain date needs the recall...i got mine delivered in february and didn't need it...you can have the service peeps run your vin # to see if you need it. and correct me if i'm wrong, i don't think they actually replace the seatbelt straps in the recall..just the mechanism that makes it work.

It takes about an hour, but depending on the dealership, can be significantly longer. It's best to make an appointment, or perhaps have someone follow you, leave for lunch or a movie, and return to pick up the car later in the day.

Again, it depends on the dealership. Make sure you have a good relationship with the Service Manager, and they'll accommodate to your needs. Since the recall is an "inconvenience," they should do what it takes to make you happy.

Make sure you ask for this when you make a service appointment. That way, they can order the part before you arrive.

I bought mine at the start of November (Nov 11th it arrived). I never got a safety recall or anything. I get tons of little surveys all the time..

Prior to the recall, I even complained that my seatbelt has gotten stuck on 3 occasions. They never said they had replaced mine. My seat belt hasn't gotten stuck at all since earlier this year. Is it worth doing the recall?

You don't get a choice. Your vehicle either needs it, or it doesn't. Look up your VIN if you want to find ot for yourself.

It sounds like you need the recall performed... Give your dealership a call and have them run you VIN and make sure your eligible.

Yeah, I had originally wanted it fixed when it got stuck, but it hasn't happened in the past 6 months or so. I've heard stories about people having damage to the side plastic pieces or loose panels afterwards. Not to mention, Tustin isn't known for their great service. I'll look into getting it done whenever I can get around to it. Thanks.
