Default 2007 IS350 or 2005 C55?

Well, i'm actually considering buying instead of leasing this time.

If i do plan to buy I'm looking at about a 42k car.

For that price I could get the fast C55 AMG benz 2005...

Anyone care to enlighten me on your choice?

Thanks

2005 C55 AMG.... 368HP, 0-60 in 4.6

They are going for about 43-45k from dealers and private sellers.

I have a dealer down to 40k on a silver model... 18k miles

People that buy AMG cars know what they have and will drive it hard.

How will a used Mercedes hold up to the abuse after 18k miles? That's the question you should be thinking about...

Indeed... .. that is just the one that is at my local dealerhsip.. there are a few in the area with under 9k miles...

I wouldnt hold it for more than a couple years... but I do agree with you and prefer to have a new car from the beginning...

I think you mean more like $121K base price for a CL55.

meh im gonna have to say the benz performance wise. As for reliability, my mother had an old e-class wagon which we traded in towards my is, and it was starting to leak oil at around 100,000 (not bad tho, and still ran fine). (not to mention the AC went at 100,000 and all of the moving plastic parts in the interior would just break when you touched them. When we trade it in I believe it had about 130 some thousand on it.

Most likely better than a Lexus. Yeah, probably more electrical gremlins on the MB over time. But structurally, and as far as parts being designed to be stronger and last longer, the MB would win my vote.
