Fixing cracks due to objects (hubcaps)
i was driving on the left lane of this two lane road. there was this other guy in the right lane and out of nowhere this spinning hubcap comes from the other side of the road right at me. i couldnt speed up because then the hubcap would have gotten stuck in the tires nor could i stop because the hubcap would hit the center of the bumper. I couldnt swerve into opposing traffic nor go into the right lane, so i unfortunately took it. It caused this 2 inch crack/gash below the foglight.
i have tungsten pearl by the way. where there was the crack the fiberglass coating, if it is fiberglass, has split. could i just get the dealer to put some fiberglass on it and then paint over it, by detailing it.

The bumper is plastic. I have a warranty coverage on exterior blemishes, and when I was getting some scratches fixed, they told me that the bumpers are plastic, which makes painting them easier than the metal body panels.

how much do you think this will cost? will they absolutely make you fix it if the car is on lease. As of now i can only see prestige tightening and aligning the plastic bumper and then painting that section.

1. argue that the car came like that
2. hook up with a lady salesperson at the dealership
3. go to a cheap bodyshop becasue it is lease and I do not think they would care how well it was fixed.

are you serious, thats so lame. its really not that deep so im going to do to RAR which is the best body shop in NJ (preferred by all insurance companies), and see what they can do. I mean i can buy the whole bumper off of ebay for $300 so like how much can they charge? $50-$100.

3= a practical solution becasue the dealership will not be able to tell when you return the car.. no? If it is the poor job that bothers you, then go get it fixed at a reputable body shop. If not, I do not see the harm in saving a little money.
