Best way to remove badging? Photos of Blk Pearl Inside
Got my Black Pearl badging in from the Sewell GB and I would like to get any tips on removing the old badging so I don't scratch the car or harm the old badging.
They look awesome btw.
And now the photo (not the greatest since the lighting isn't the best):

didn't the emblems come with some special tool to remove the badges?
on my old car i used wd-4o to sorta dissolve the adhesive. they popped right off afterwards.
on the "IS350" emblems... do all the letters n numbers have pegs behind them? if not... are you just suppose to eyeball the ones w/o the pegs and hope they're even n not crooked?

Sometimes the heat from a hairdryer will make the adhesive soft enough to pull the old ones off. If that doesn't work, try to get under the adhesive with some of the real thin dental floss.

This stuff is amazing and will not damage the paint, it also has a million uses. They sell it at Wal-mart in the household cleaners section. This is a must have product!

All of the pieces have adhesive. And they came with the removal tool just looking for some additional help.
On the IS350 only the S and the 0 have pegs, the rest need to be eyeballed, I'm going to use some lightly adhesive tape used for masking off areas to be painted on cars and make a level line where the original badge was.

Lay down a straight line of painters tape along the top and bottom edges of the OEM badges BEFORE you remove them - then all you have to do is line the replacements up along your tape lines. And as an added benefit, it acts as an added protection for your paint!
