I recently got into a little accident, and I was wondering your opinions. I have a crystal white IS 250 and I was thinking on either painting the roof black or the hood in the middle black. What do you guys think? I have seen it on many cars but don't know how it would look on ours!

Those people either have carbon fiber hoods, or are trying to mimic the look. I personally wouldn't do it if it's not an actual piece, but go with what you like I suppose.

I think a carbon fiber hood either all c/f or paint the sides and leave the middle would look good.. My friend has a 3 series BMW with the roof painted black and the c/f in the middle of the hood and it looks good, really clean.. but thats on BMW. Try photoshopping or getting someone to photoshop a picture of how it will look..shouldn't be that hard

I don't think the IS body will work with that combo. Eventually someone will do it though.

I call that the Shamu look. I don't like the look, but check out Scion TC in white. Those have black glass tops. Maybe that'll give you a better idea of how black would look on a white car.

The difference is that people know that the tC has a glass roof.

For the IS, people will know that you painted the roof black, and it'll look out of place.

Don't do it. It may be a good idea for some, but not for a car of Lexus' class..

I have a buddy with a silver BMW 745 with a painted black roof. It looks really good because he has all the windows tinted so it flows from the windshield to the back window. I don't think it would look the same on the IS...

Ok you guys convinced me I'm not doing it! The only reason why I tought of it i saw an E500that was white with black roof.

Yeah I guess you guys are right. Its just that it's at the body shop and I wamted to so something different, Any ideas? I was going to get the element 114 front bumper but they wont out untiul the middle of sept and i cant wait that long.

get the ings front lip and mold it then after that save up for the side skirts and rear lip.
